A Jewish Response to the Islamic Boycott

As I was celebrating Yom Yerushalayim—Jerusalem Day—yesterday, I received a great piece of news that I wanted to share with you. As you may have seen, a short time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Muslim world to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people. In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:

"A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a discovery by a Jew, Ludwig Traube. Should he suffer with a toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a discovery of the Jew, Alfred Einhorn. If a Muslim has diabetes, he must not use insulin, the result of research by Oskar Minkowski, a Jew.

"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Paul Ehrlich. He should not even try to find out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test was the discovery of a Jew.

"Muslims with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew, Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate to treat them. Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he must refrain from the "Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew, Bella Schick.

"They should continue to die or remain crippled by Infantile Paralysis because the discoverer of the anti-polio vaccine was a Jew, Jonas Salk. Muslims must refuse to use Streptomycin and continue to die of Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing disease.

"Muslim doctors must discard all discoveries and improvements by dermatologist Judas Sehn Benedict, or the lung specialist, Frankel, and of many other world renowned Jewish scientists and medical experts."

That highlights pretty well how much the Jewish people have contributed to the world—yet they have so many enemies today committed to their destruction. We must stand with the Jewish people now more than ever—and I'm asking for your help today...asking you to stand with the Jerusalem Prayer Team as we stand for Israel.

After much prayer, we have designated the month of June as "Bless Jerusalem Month." Your gifts this month will go to bless the Holy City of Jerusalem—elderly Holocaust victims, terror victims, Jewish refugees living in poverty, and much more.

You are the watchman God has placed on the walls of Jerusalem. "I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." (Isaiah 62:6-7)

Many of the Jews in Jerusalem have been brought back to Israel through the hands of Gentiles in fulfillment of prophecy, "Thus says the Lord GOD: 'Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, And set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders…'" (Isaiah 49:22)

Jerusalem is God's delight, His royal diadem, His firstborn, His chosen, His beloved. He declares, "For he who touches you touches the apple (pupil) of His eye." (Zechariah 2:8) Jerusalem is the only city where God has promised to prosper those who love it. (Psalm 122:6)

I will be in the Holy City the latter part of June to present your gifts to the Jewish people. I also will be meeting with the Mayor of Jerusalem and with the Prime Minister.

Throughout the Muslim world, violent demonstrations are going on as protestors spit, shake their fists, and scream the word "nakba" (catastrophe). They demand that Jerusalem be taken from the Jews to be the next Islamic capital. While the enemies of the Jewish people are cursing them, you will have an opportunity in honor of Jerusalem Day to bless her. "I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curses thee." (Genesis 12:3)

I am asking every Jerusalem Prayer Team member this month to be part of this "Bless Jerusalem Month." We are praying that at least 3,000 will respond to this urgent call to touch the hearts and lives of hurting people in Jerusalem. So far, 50 loving hearts have responded to this plea for help. The name of every person who contributes to this campaign will be engraved in the Holy City. Those names will be there until the Messiah appears in His glory: "When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory." (Psalm 102:16)

Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team makes it possible for us for to continue to rally believers to stand with Israel, to speak out to leaders of our nation and the world in defense of Israel, and to meet urgent humanitarian needs of the Jewish people. Thank you so much for being part of the team.

Modeh ani l'faneykha, melekh chai vekayam; rabbah emunatekha.

I thank you living and eternal King; great is your faithfulness.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Michael Evans
