"But they mocked God’s messengers, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of the Lord was aroused against His people and there was no remedy. He brought up against them the king of the Babylonians, who killed their young men with the sword in the sanctuary, and did not spare young men or young women, the elderly or the infirm. God gave them all into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar. He carried to Babylon all the articles from the temple of God, both large and small, and the treasures of the Lord’s temple and the treasures of the king and his officials. They set fire to God’s temple and broke down the wall of Jerusalem; they burned all the palaces and destroyed everything of value there." 2 Chronicles 36:16-19
The scripture above reveals God's judgment which He brought upon His chosen people, who had witnessed numerous miracles from the time of their Father Abraham to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. The Israelites sins of worshipping false gods, their religious habits of paying their tithes while neglecting and even robbing the poor revealed that their hardened hearts were far from God. They failed to respect, honor and to show reverence to God for who He is. They had no knowledge or understanding of The Fear Of The LORD. Therefore, in His actions as a Father who disciplines his children, God brought those from heathen nations against His children resulting in slavery or death, and the destruction of Jerusalem and His Holy Temple.
I was sharing God's message of judgment upon America as He has revealed to Pastors David Wilkerson (In, Set The Trumpet To Thy Mouth) and Dumitru Duduman (In, Through The Fire Without Burning) to a lady the other night, just as I have done several thousands times over the last 18 years. She replied as many others have, that God's love for us is so great that He will not allow America to be destroyed by a nuclear holocaust.
Evidently, I am reading from a different Bible then those who think God is more loving or compassionate then He was in the days before the birth of Christ. God demanded the Israelite's obedience to His WORD then, and He demands no less from us today. Yes we live in the age of grace, but we also live in the coming of His Judgment. My Bible tells me that the LORD is the same today as He was yesterday and is forever and ever.
How foolish it is for us not to accept and embrace God's discipline, even more so for someone to say they believe in God and not read His Word daily. I understand this only because I too was foolish and irreverent towards the truth of God's WORD for many years. Now it is easier for me to understand this foolish and irreverent attitude towards God's WORD, because He has removed the veil before my eyes, which now enables me to better serve the LORD.
Today it is also foolish for most Americans who refuse to accept and acknowledge God's blessings in the building of this once great nation, they have no understanding of the ways of the Sovereign God of all the universe. Just as God brought those from heathens nations to destroy Jerusalem and His temple, so too is He doing the same to America.
This age is quickly coming to a close and our only hope is through God's Grace and the precious cleansing Blood of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
